New boyfriend advice/suggestions

Ok so I am 21 and I just started dating a guy I’ve known for 8ish years. It was one of those things where we could’ve never been together before now bc neither one of us were mature enough but we’ve both been through a lot and for some reason it’s just working for us now. So anyway his birthday was Wednesday but we literally JUST started dating as I want to get him something but I don’t want to get him something that is a little too much for this point in our relationship. Any suggestions???
