Medical abortion?

Will a medical abortion hurt more if you are farther along? My Aunt has had a medical abortion at 9 weeks and told my mom, me, and her husband that is was the worst pain she’s ever felt! I’m currently 5 weeks & 3 days (according to a calculator & the start date of my last period).. and was wondering if a medical abortion would hurt less the less you are along aka hurt more the further you’re along. I have read about the surgical abortion, and have heard it’s almost painless because of the anesthetic, but I am completely terrified of the entire “dilating your cervix”, using tools and everything... Please feel free to comment personal stories, of you or a family member/friend.. - Not judging anyone!
