So I have brown eyes and  my boyfriend has blue eyes. My mom and grandpa have  blue eyes and boyh my boyfriends parents have blue eyes. What percentage  could my children potentially  have blue eyes? I was thinking 25 percent since brown eyes are dominant  but still a chance cause of family genes.

So I love these haha. Here’s it. Since your mother gave you her blue eye gene, but your father gave you his brown eye gene, you are a carrier of blue. Whichever you give to your child will determine the eye color, since hubby only gives blue because he can only possibly carry blue(brown would show because it is dominant). That’s a 50/50 chance you’ll give blue or brown. Now, if your husband had a parent with brown eyes and one blue, and he had brown eyes, then your chance would be 25 percent for those recessive genes in both of you to match up. Hazel and green can also pop up, but basically light eyes 1/2 chance! :)

I have brown eyes so does my mom and dad. My boyfriend has blue eyes and his mom has green and his dad has blue. My daughter has blue eyes! I assumed she would have brown but nope she got lucky!
