Husband joining National Guard

Hi everyone,

My husband is an EMT and in school for law enforcement. He’s seriously considering joining the Army National Guard or maybe the Air Guard for MP. I’m worried about what it might mean for us and how long we will have to be apart.

Can anyone else who’s gone through this give me insight or wisdom? We really think the benefits would be good for us, but I’m afraid of the commitment. He really wants to do it, and I want to be supportive.
