This isnt safe???

Mommas, help me out here. My mom just ordered me this for my little one, due next month. Its called a portable sleep bed, but how is this safe? It says its designed for "safe sleep" and even states "reduces the risk for SIDS" but isnt this itself a risk factor for SIDS? Im confused. Has anyone owned this?

Anything that says it reduces sids is a scam. The only way to reduce the chance of sids is baby alone on their back in a crib/bassinet. And even then there is a slim chance of sids because doctors don’t fully understand why babies die from a sids.

Those have actually just been recalled. 
The only way to sleep safe is for baby to be in their own bare crib/bassinet and be laying flat on their back. 
Any product that claims to reduce SIDs is lying. The AAP has a list of things that actually do reduce SIDs. The only product on the list is pacifiers.

I dont trust this. The pillow thing around the head looks dangerous. If the baby happens to turn their head they can suffocate as they dont know how to turn away in that situation.

i lot of those kinds of baby products haven’t been regulated and throw around those claims when there’s nothing to back them up. make sure you do your own research before using anything to see if it has been approved for sleep!

The thing I don’t understand about this is it looks like it would only work when your baby is exactly that length, which is like a week. I’ve seen it and thought that every time. I don’t know how safe it is but I know a safety expert would say “flat on back, solid ish surface, nothing else”

They say that because it’s a co sleeper and a lot of people don’t believe cosleeping is safe. Look up the safe sleep seven and it will be fine to sleep with your baby with that little bed.
