What is the "best" age to have children?

Based on parenting strategies, financial status, life experience what age do you believe starting a family should happen?

It really depends on the person/couple!!! I know some wicked smart, super responsible people in their early 20s and some people in their 30s who are less so. Also, life isn’t always predictable or controllable as you might like it to be. I went financially ready for a kid until I was in my 30s, but different people have different definitions of what financially ready even means. I also lived abroad and travelled extensively before becoming a parent, which has serious upsides and downsides— I’m a confident traveler and i look forward to traveling with my kids, but I also am much more restless than I would be if I had never had those experiences (I think).

There is no best age, nobody lives the same life. Financial stability and stable relationships come at different stages in life. Plus some people don’t decide to have kids until they’re older. Our first was born a week after my 21st (my partner is the same age but his birthday is a few months later). We have been together since we where 16, lived together since 17 and my partner was earning $120K a year by the time our daughter was born. Not that I have to explain myself but I don’t love the stereotype that young parents are not as ‘ready’ for children. This was the best time for US and we’re now expecting our 3rd baby at 24 🤗 I absolutely love being a mum

I got pregnant with my daughter at 18. And I’m pregnant with baby #2 and I’m 20. 🤷🏼‍♀️ my husband and I are financially stable, have our own home, and we’re good parents in my eyes.

Personally 28 was the neat age for me. It could’ve been early twenties but I personally didn’t have stability or enough fun yet! Pregnancy scares were really scary back then. Especially one I had at 19! I have a career now, a car, a flat, life experience, and I have had a lot of fun in my younger twenties. It all depends on how you feel I suppose.

I voted late 20s but I just dont think you can have a ideal age. I'm 23 and my husband is 29 so, late 20s? But for me its early 20s and, I'm not bragging, but I'm a damn good mom and hes a damn good dad. I feel like we were made to be parents. But I have grown so much in the last 3 years that I'm not sure if I would've been so great at being a mom at 20. Our finances arent perfect now but I honestly believe that if you try and wait until you're completely financially perfect you'll never have a kid because SOMETHING always happens. But it just depends on the people and where they are mentally because age doesnt mean anything. You can be 45 and be immature and unstable (plenty of people come to my mind for this) and you can be 21 and more mature than anyone. It just depends on the couple, who they are individually, where they are financially. I will say this, a child is hard work. If my husband and I didnt have a good marriage our bundle of joy would cause ALOT of strain. I take care of her 90 percent of the time and I am completely okay with that. We discussed this before trying and I knew how it would go down but most people dont discuss it and the mom is left to care for the baby solely by herself and this is what ruins alot of relationships. So communication is the most important aspect of a healthy relationship and parent partnership.

Very interesting comments I'm 28 with a 5 yr old I separated from his Father when he was 2yrs old.
Soon after I reconciled with my childhood sweetheart. We are trying for a child however he treats my son like his own. 
You ladies are all 💯 percent right in the fact that everyone's story is so different and being rich or financially stable doesn't define you as a mother. So what makes a mother? 
Selfless moments, unconditional love, being fun yet providing discipline and stability... In this time so many stereotypes are placed upon being a Mum. Having been going through the family court - custody battle.
I am struggling hard to find the energy to even get out of bed in the morning. This is something that is not spoken about enough because it's like people are embarassed or ashamed. There are so many emotions constantly running through my head about the fact that I could loose my son to a man that abused me and his girlfriend who is a barely a stranger to my son. I just want it all to be over and the only thing that has kept me strong is the little 5 yr old that calls me Mama.

My son has everything he needs and is well cared for. I'm sorry for the rant but through my story I hope I can touch others who have gone through something similar.

I had my first at 18. I grew up fast! I do wish i had my degree first so i could give more to my kids but they are happy and healthy and I'm still going to school.  So depends.
