When are babies supposed to roll over?!

So, my son is 2 weeks and 5 days. We're doing tummy time on the floor.

Looks normal. Seems normal. THEN HE ROLLED OVER. Didn't like it one bit but he did! And as I was taking pictures!

I'm shocked. I didn't think he was supposed to be doing that. I Googled it, and Google says roughly 4 months?! What about you ladies?! What was normal for your Little ones??

Mine did that at about the same time, only front to back. I think it was just a reflex at that point, he didn’t do it for very long... a week maybe. 
He just started rolling over for real yesterday (he will be 5 months on the 14th)

It could be that he rolled over on accident. My pediatrician told me when babies that young turn from their tummy to their back it’s usually on accident. 🤔

When babies roll over at that age it's usually all by accident. They don't have the muscles developed enough to roll over themselves. It's usually because of gravity and momentum when they are that young.  My baby did it a lot at that age it's hard holding up that big head.

Mine did once or twice at around that age and it didn’t happen again until she was 4 months old. I’m told it was by accident.

My first rolled that early... what I know now that I didn’t know then is that rolling that early can be a sign of tension and muscle strain in their backs/necks from how they were positioned in the belly.  I would consider seeing a baby chiropractor and have him adjusted, especially if he is having any tummy troubles or gas etc.

That was just an accident. Head is too heavy and pulls them over 😂😂 my son had (let’s be honest, still has) a HUGE head. We did tummy time every day, and he started rolling on purpose around 3m, though

Yep ours was a roller at 9 weeks. So we stopped swaddling and it was hell for awhile haha. He is SUPER active and always has been.

Mine rolled a few times early on too and then stopped. By the way, your baby has awesome neck strength for 2 weeks old!

My son would roll over when he was very little. But not on purpose. He would get so shocked every time it happened.
