Is it normal for a nurse to do this?

Question

I called my doctor so I can possibly have a nutritionist, and her nurse called me back and she was asking me if we were trying or preventing? She also asked me if I was single married or engaged?
I told her “I thought this call was regarding a nutritionist” and she said yes I was getting there.
I am really pissed off right now that she asked me those questions and not sure if it’s normal that they ask them.

They are asking those questions bc it all effects your diet. 
1) are you TTC, pregnant or avoiding: if TTC you can eat certain things to help boost fertility, also TtC and pregnant women need to meet certain daily vitamins and calories. And trying to avoid pregnancy then she can cut your calories and food back to certain things for maximum weight loss/maintenance. 
2) married? Divorced? Dating? These all effect your emotions. This means are you going to eat your emotions? Are you going to be more motivated or what not. Do you have an effective support partner or someone who is going to hinder your diet. 
All normal questions. Hope this helps!
