Nursery after Baby Comes?

My fiance and I will be moving in September and the baby is due in October. We don't have everything he needs right now but we decided it's fine because he's not even going to use that room tell he's a few months along anyway. Anyone else doing this or has done this?

That's fine! My nursery isn't finished and I don't have an excuse except that I haven't bothered with it lol. We have bought everything but it needs to be set up and decorated and I'm being induced tonight at midnight. Babies don't need a nursery when they come home I didn't see a point in messing with it for it to sit and collect dust for 6 months

It’s totally fine! We had our nursery ready before our son was born because I had the summer off before baby was born in September, as I’m a teacher. We really only used it for the changing table and rocker. He was in our room in a bassinet for the first 6.5 months. So take your time and settle into the new house. There’s really no rush.

We didn’t get our daughter’s nursery put together until she was 1! She was with us in our room for the first year.

No worries. Like you said, you'll have time to finish the room before he starts using it.
I have my little mans room all finished and ready only because we moved into our new house and I had the time but he will be in a bassinet in our room until 1-2 months old due to breaatfeeding

Dont worry about it! The baby should sleep in your room in his own bed for 6-12 months according to american pediatric association so the nursery is pointless the first 6-12 months anyway. I am waiting until then for a nursery. I do have a playroom but its mostly just for decor and diaper changing so far. LO is 3 weeks old.

My son was born in April and we had the nursery complete by February. But honestly, we barely use it. My son sleeps in my room and I change him in my bedroom or the living room. We just keep his clothes in his dresser lol

It's fine! I only moved out of my parents house when my baby was 2-3 months old (now 5 months) so got his nursery done then. He still barely uses it at the moment 🤷🏽‍♀️ I think we'll be using it more often when he's 6 months old (sleeps there).

With my second baby, we moved when he was 3 1/2 weeks old.  It took me months to get his room done bc I was doing the whole house besides taking care of a newborn and 3yo.  I just got the important things done so I could function day to day.  It'll be fine if you don't get it done right away.  Just maybe get baby's dresser set up so you can get to the clothes and diapers.  :-)

My daughter never really used her nursery for the first 6 months except for the changing table. But I’m glad I got it done before she was born because there’s no way I would have time to do it now. Up to you, but I strongly recommend getting at least the big stuff in.

We are going to transition baby to her room sometime next month (she will be 1) so im just now looking at paint colors and going to start buying things for her room.
