What happens during your first ultrasound & during a pelvic exam?

Ive never had a pelvic exam so im a bit nervous. Im 20 and pregnant with my baby #1. My first ultrasound is next week and i will be just a day under 9 weeks pregnant. Im nervous to find a heartbeat and im nervous about the entire process. Anyone wanna tell me what goes on during the appointment?

They might be able to just do an abdominal ultrasound, and look at baby. As far as the pelvic exam, all they did for me was stuck a gloved finger inside my vagina, and lightly pressed around on my abdomen near my pelvis with the other hand. Pretty quick and easy.

I was 20 when I went for my first appointment too, I was only about 6-7 weeks at my appt. they basically just took my pee, asked when my last period was. Then tried to do an ultrasound but it wasn’t picking anything up since It was so early , so they had to do the internal one it wasn’t so bad. Don’t be nervous , it’s an awesome experience you get to see and possibly hear your baby ❤️

I had an ultrasound at 8 weeks. They did a transvaginal one bc it was hard to see on the regular one. It was just a little wand kind of like a tampon! Seeing the baby is truly amazing :) 
- I haven’t ever had a pelvic exam so I can’t speak to that. I’m 19 and they’ve never asked me to do one. I’m now currently 35 weeks pregnant💙
