6 weeks Post Partum, Back in the Maternity Ward

Mo

My bleeding slowed down and 5 days ago slightly picked up, with some mild cramping. I thought it was my period.

So uesterday at lunch I was going to the bathroom and after finishing I went to tend to my toddler and I could feel a sudden gush. I pulled down my pants in the bathroom and I had blood pouring out of me. I lost about half a cup on the floor right there and it continued pouring out and thought I was going to die. I got ahold of my MIL to come watch the kids. I'm from a small town so I went to the public health center where I passed a ping pong sized clot and golf ball sized clot. The dr. saw with an ultrasound machine what seemed to be a 4 cm clot still lodge into my uterine wall.

I was sent to a bigger hospital, that I gave birth in, 2 and a half hours away. I was given an ultrasound.

The doctor here determined it was a piece of placenta that has been retained for 6 weeks. My husband and son are staying in a hotel while my baby and me stay in the maternity wing of the hospital while I'm hooked to IV for antibiotics, dying for a 🤬 cold glass of juice or water, but cant have anything because they are doing a D&C somewhere between 8:00 Am and 3:00 PM
