Why don’t people take teenagers seriously also what do you see teenagers as ?

To put it bluntly, it because they’re seen as these over privileged, know it all, naive, self centered idiots. Obviously not all teenagers are the same and act like that, but a good portion of them do. Part of growing up is facing these stupid little right of passages by just dealing with it and keep moving forward instead of complaining and whining about them like most do. Like I’m only 23 and I still have a shit ton of life to figure out and I’m still looked down upon by older adults 🤷🏻‍♀️ But if I look back to my teen years, I did some stupid things and I had a different mindset and it really makes me question what the hell I thought I was doing lol

Teenagers are teenagers. Many aren’t take seriously simply because of how they carry themselves and how they behave. The “I know everything” attitude, tends to get you brushed off more than being receptive to advice from people older and more experienced.

Because we have BEEN teenagers and understand how immature and annoying we were. Teenagers honestly do think they know a lot and are very entitled even the mature and selfless ones. It’s an age and development thing.

Not everyone takes them less seriously.  Something I’ve heard often from therapists is that they make an extra effort to convey how sincere they are being (by they I mean therapists) with teenagers because teenagers are the best bull$h!t detectors out there!

I’m a teenager and I swear I know nothing I literally just started out my life so I don’t know anything. Not all teenagers are like this and same goes for generations not all of them are the same things have changed. It doesn’t mean there isn’t people like this but please don’t make assumptions that we are all like this.

I’m a teenager, and I hate it when people don’t take us seriously. The thing is, most teenagers from my generation are very mature and behave themselves. But the small amount of stupid teens that misbehave put a bad name on the good ones, and it’s so annoying when people don’t trust you just because you’re a teenager 🙄
