So I bought dye blonde hair dye from Walmart and my mom said that if I was to dye my hair it’ll turn orange!? Is that true??? should I just go see a professional at the salon??  only sucky part is that I gotta wait.

Do not do it. Box bleach on dark hair will cause your hair to break super easy! Feel free to message me or something for more detail :)

If your hair is dark it will always go through the red/orange/yellow stages when lightened. Box dye is horrible, theres no way to control the chemicals and nothing is guaranteed. Going to the salon is really the only way to go from dark to blonde without ruining your hair.

It's always better to see a professional. The reason is that a professional knows exactly what to do to achieve the end result. When you use box color you can not be sure what peroxide or pigment is actually in the color. Everyone's hair can turn orange when lightening your hair. A pro can do it with out risking the damage and with out being orange! Good luck!
