Birthing cost!?

How much did you pay to deliver at a hospital with insurance??? I have BCBC. I originally wanted a birthing center but it's 5,000, it's cheap but I have to pay before 30 weeks and im not sure we can do that. Do hospitals do payments???? Im in Texas! Thanks in advance:)

I have BCBS as primary and Medicaid as secondary. I didn't uave to pay but insurance paid $7500 I had to have a c section.

You would have to call BCBS and have someone go over your exact plan with you. As for the payment plans, that is completely up to the hospital/birthing center so I would ask them in advance, call their billing department and get a clear idea. I used to be a medical biller and it can get very muddled, get a first, second, fifth opinion honestly. I’ve had people from insurance companies who do NOT know what they’re talking about give me patient benefits that we’re totally incorrect. The best thing to do is call your insurance and perhaps even ask to speak to a supervisor, get a reference number and name just Incase you notice your claims have been processed incorrectly, you have something to refer back to. Insurance is a bitch 😂

I did payments. If you do epidural or c-section the price is higher. I did nature birth so I only had to pay 5,000.00 but that up here in North Carolina. I would call and talk to someone.
