Where do I even begin???? So, my baby ran a fever of 100.2 last week, Tuesday. We rushed to the ER and they seen us right away, so the lady got my baby information and all that and put us in the examination room. They proceeded to tell us that they need bloodwork, culture test, and spinal fluids. They said the reason for it is because they don’t know the cause of fever. Oh, and a X-Ray of his chest. So they did all that and told us to stay overnight just in case it’s something serious. And the only thing we got out of the 4 days being there is that he has an infection in his blood. Two days later whatever antibiotic he was on cleared the infection and the only thing he was dealing with was a fever. Side note, they didn’t know where the infection came from or what’s causing it. The doctor ordered that we stay another week in the hospital and put a picc line in my baby arm because his iv fell out. They said the picc line was to take blood and give antibiotics. They told me the picc line just went in his arm. Another doctor came and told us that his picc line ran into his chest... if I would have known that I would have NEVER agreed to it. All they been doing is taking blood every day, but finding nothing. They even put a catheter on him to get a urine sample. Also, little side story, my boyfriend was sick with, idk what. But I think it was a sinus infection and my boyfriend doesn’t have medical insurance to get tested. So, it would have been out of pocket to see a doctor and my boyfriend refused. They nurse proceeded to tell me that my boyfriend cares more about his money than his child’s life. And my mom, not understanding the grasp of everything she just worried about the baby and letting anything happen. This also caused a nasty fight between my boyfriend family and his family because they blaming one or the other for what happened. I promised myself this will be the last time, the very last. If you feel something not right speak up. For me, they told me it’s what they supposed to do on a baby, my child is a month old. My mom knew all this ,but didn’t even try to tell me better because she just wanted the baby to be fine. It’s a lesson learned that I will never go back to that hospital. I will go out of town for my baby.
