Can’t get my breast pump until after baby arrives. What can I stock up on now?

So, my doctor won’t “prescribe” my breast pump until after I deliver. This makes me a little nervous because I like to be really prepared for everything 😬
I’m pretty sure that I’ll be getting a Medela pump, though. So, what do I need to know or what should I buy ahead of time to have ready for when I can eventually pump?

The hospital can provide an electric pump and or a manual breast pump: you can take the Manual one home

I like to prepare as well. My insurance wont do pumps until 30 days before shes due. I got a haaka manual pump on Amazon. Lots if rave reviews and it wasn't bad I think like $20.

I can’t either, but from what I’ve learned in my breastfeeding class, if you want to breastfeed, it’s best to wait to pump until breastfeeding is established, so I’m not too worried. I’m mostly just worried about dealing with the bureaucracy of my insurance company while sleep reprieved...

When you get your pump it should have everything you need. The only thing you would need is freezer bags and bottles and something to clean it with.
