Breastfeeding and nipple sheilds?

So i am 8 weeks pregnant with my second and i will breastfeed this time!! I stopped breastfeeding my first after 3 days and i was super sore and had no support around me so panicked. Anyways i do remember my nipples being red raw and sore as anything after 3 days pp. So nipple shields? Avoid or use them? Seems theres so many mixed reviews online! Thanks :)

I have inverted nipples. I was given a nipple shield to help me with breastfeeding. I LOVED it. It took some time for my daughter to get used to it, but once she did everything was peachy. It also helped my nipples pop more out. Most likely I won’t need it next time 😊

It could’ve been your baby didn’t have a good latch. Nipple shields work, but some babies don’t like them. Other babies like them a lot and have a hard time transitioning when you want to stop using the shield.

Nipple shield is an ok place to start. Get some nipple cream too.
