Can you feel yourself dialating before you’re in labor?

Maybe a stupid question but I dropped, my cervix is apparently very soft, and today I’ve been getting vagina and pelvic floor pains. And my whole area below my csection scar feels almost bruised... idk how to explain the feeling.

You cannot feel dilation but you can definitely feel pressure on the cervix from the baby (which encourages dilation and effacement) so the pressure is likely what you’re feeling. Although pressure, pain, etc are not indication of dilation just correlation.

With my first I was 4 cm dilated and hadn't felt anything till contractions started. With my second I ended up with an incompetent cervix and it completely opened and i felt nothing at all till my water broke. Idk if others feel pain or anything but i never have.
