Is it ever okay to forgive cheating ?

This is nothing related to what’s happened to me but I just want to get different opinions.
If someone were to cheat on you, whether it was intoxicated or any type, is it ever okay to take them back ?
QUESTION  is, is it EVER okay to forgive someone for cheating even if they “proved” you better and did everything they could to gain your trust back?

Personally they would have to show me that they changed and would never do it again... my bf now cheated on his ex but now he talks abt it like it was the worst decision of his entire life... so I ended up trusting him and committing to a relationship w him. He is truly regretful for what he put her through and I know that he would never do it again... so it depends on the guy and I think how old you are. If ur still in HS guys are young and experimenting and don’t really know what they are doing... they’re dumb (I’m talking very generally... ofc not all guys are like this and it definitely doesn’t make it right AT ALL) but past that I think they should know that it’s not right and if they want a relationship they should know not to do that....

I mean...I wouldn’t say that it’s “not ok” BUT personally, I’d NEVER take back a cheater. Once I’m disrespected and once someone gives me a reason not to trust them, I’m gone.

We all make mistakes. Cheating sucks but sometimes people act like it’s the worse thing a human being can possibly do (if that what you think, you’re naive). I’m not saying it’s acceptable but I do think it can be forgiven depending on the circumstance
