Private photographer or hospital?

Which do you all prefer? Let the hospital do the newborn photos or hire someone private to do them?

I did both . I honestly liked both because the hospital ones were nice because she was just sooo new, i did the private ones when she was around 2 ish 3 weeks and they were beautiful too.

The photographer at the hospital took great pictures and was really nice- UNTIL I told her we couldn’t afford to buy the picture package. I’d rather spend $60 on formula than eight pictures. Not sorry, crazy lady.
We have a photographer friend that took pictures for free at our house when he was two weeks old. No regrets 🤷🏻‍♀️

My sister did birth photographs and that was perfect for me. I didn’t want the staged stuff, I wanted the real first time I kissed my baby’s head.

My hospital didn’t offer them. I had a photographer come in

My hospital stopped doing pictures. The nurses said that with almost everyone having smartphones and taking their own pictures they stopped paying for the professional equipment. Maybe call and make sure yours offers before making a decision. It was just my partner in the room while I gave birth, one of the nurses was nice and asked if we wanted her to take a couple photos :)
