Has anyone ever had a Hysterosalpingography (HSG)?

Question

Has anyone ever had a HSG completed? What was the outcome? How was the procedure? Did it ruin your chances ot ttc that month? 
I am scheduled to get one this month. I have been ttc for over a year. Dr. Said they do blood work, seman analysis and an HSG first to rule out any abnormalities. Is that how your dr. Did it? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi!
I had one done in July. They started with an ultrasound to check my uterus and ovaries. The doctor then came in to insert the dye. 
I did not find it at all painful except for a few seconds as they first injected the dye. 
All turned out very well for me. No blockages or anything. 
I was told not to have sex for 24 hours. I had no pain or bleeding after the procedure. 
I was due to ovulate 5-6 days later and we tried as normal. We just found out we’re pregnant!

My HSG was clear and I got pregnant with IUI that month!!!

I had one when I was ttc #1 2 years ago, about 2-3 months later I got pregnant. I hear it helps clear the tubes.  
There was pressure as they put the dye in but it’s fairly quick.

Had one in June. Hurt but for like 10 seconds. It doesn't stop you from conceiving in fact they say it improves pregnancy rate after it's done. Good luck

I had mine done 8/1. My left was clear but right side, my doctor said was questionable. They had me shift around. For me, it was a lot of pressure, not really painful. My doc had me take 3 days of antibiotics and instructed me to take a Motrin 30 mins before the procedure. I did have a little bit of bleeding the day of and some spotting the next day.  I’m tracking ovulation with OPK and hope i ovulate soon. Good luck!

I've had 2 in the last month. Turns out I have cervical stenosis which prevented the dr from inserting the catheter. Next step was a dilation and hysteroscopy. I went 2 days after being dilated to do another hsg and he was able to insert the catheter but the dye wouldnt go past my cervix.
Even with the issues and all the moving around they had to do to try to get the dye in, it wasnt painful at all. You can see the xray screen as its happening and they tell you the results on the spot. You can still try the month you have it. just cant have sex leading up to the procedure.

Just had one yesterday. No pain during the procedure and clear tubes. Going to TTC when I ovulate soon and hoping for the best. Seeing the x Ray is pretty cool
