Do you have to get on birth control after baby is born?

I have my 6 week pp checkup today and I’ve been looking online about what they ask you or what they all look at during this visit. A lot of it said they will talk to you about birth control and what kind to get, I’m aware they aren’t gonna make you get it because it’s your body and you have a say, but I feel like they are pressuring it sometimes. At the hospital one of the first questions the midwife asked me the next day after labor and delivery was “what is your form of birth control?” I was very tired and confused at the moment since I had just went through 24 hours of labor, hasn’t slept in 2 days. The lady started naming off forms of birth control and I didn’t want any of them. I just said condoms because I needed to give her some type of answer. Anyways my questions is why do they pressure you so hard for birth control? Did anybody else feel this way??
