hpv & cervical cancer ?

my pap smear came back that i have a type of hpv and they don’t know what type it is. i’ve been with the same person for years and my pap smears have always came back normal.. i even had an hpv vaccine years ago and she the. proceeds to tell me i have to come in tuesday for some type of surgery??? i’m so lost and hurt.. can I still get pregnant? i’ve been trying for a year and nothing

If you or your partner have ever had sex with someone else then you can get it. Statistically over 80% of the population will get HPV in their lifetime and new studies are showing that it may be just as easy to contract through simply genitalia contact or even through condoms 😱. The vaccine is in hopes to prevent it but it’s not fool proof and they believe there are types out there they haven’t discovered yet. It also can lay dormant in your body for numerous years so infidelity isn’t always the reason. Typically they do a LEEP procedure to remove the harmful cells and watch you closely from there. I’d ask your doctor about future pregnancy and when it would be safe to start but know it typically doesn’t decrease your chances of a successful pregnancy. Try not to stress too much! ❤️

I had the same situation and it was so stressful. I had the procedure and then I was pregnant with my daughter about 3 months later. It does not have any impact on pregnancy but you do have to wait until it heals to try again. You have some period like pains and bleeding afterwards but it heals really quickly. Please don’t worry too much (I know it’s hard).
