I had an HIV screening since I am pregnant and a couple of things came back positive, and a couple negative. Doc is waiting on a quantitative viral load to come back for confirmation; as this point it’s up in the air.

Has anyone had a positive HIV 1/2 antigen/antibody test as well as a positive HIV 1 QUALITATIVE and it been a false positive? I was negative for HIV 1 and HIV 2 antibodies. Those two positives supposedly point to a recent infection which I am doubting. Really hoping for a false positive even though they aren’t common. I do have an autoimmune disease as well as have had mono/Epstein Barr virus which I read can sometimes cause a false positive.

UPDATE: HIV RNA Quantitative came back undetectable, so it was a rare FALSE POSITIVE.
