Pregnant again???

Has any of you moms gotten pregnant while EBF and also haven’t had a pp period? Is breastfeeding some form of birth control?

No it’s not! I got my period back 5 weeks postpartum and I was still breastfeeding. You don’t always ovulate when you get your period but I was because I took an ovulation test and I got a surge in the middle of my cycle on day 12 and 13
So, no. Dont count on it to prevent pregnancy!

It is supposed to be almost as effective as birth control during the first six months if done on demand with no pumping. That being said, we are all past six months now and there are too many variables to make it a reliably effective form of birth control. If you don’t want to get pregnant, I would find a more reliable form of birth control.

I was EBF when i fell pregnant at 11 months pp last time. I had to get my period first. Im not breastfeeding now. Im 8w5d

No it’s not. You can ovulate and get your period whenever breastfeeding or not.
