Brown Spotting?

My period is a week late and for a few days whenever I wipe there is brown and sometimes it gets on the liners. It’s not a lot like when I have my period, and it’s not the same dark red color either. I have not had sex so I’m sure I’m not pregnant, as I have tried to google what is happening but have come to not answers. And if I’m being honest I’m kinda worried/scared? Because this has never happened before and I only had period symptoms (tender breasts, cramps) for one day, but still no blood only brown. If anyone has any idea please help!
