What do they do for gestational hypertension?

At my last doc appointment my bp was 130/90. I’ve been taking it at home and it’s been 130-135/90-95. I haven’t had any protein in urine yet. Doc said if it’s high again I’ll have labs drawn. What happens after that? Do they usually induce you early? Trying to prepare myself 😬 I’m 34 weeks.

I was induced at 33wks 3 dys due to High Blood pressure/ PreEclampsia and high levels of protein in my urine.. I was monitored at the Hospital and then Dr made the decision to give me a C-SECTION due to my placenta wasn’t functioning well , baby wasn’t moving like she should and the umbilical cord wasn’t supplying efficient blood to baby.. Needless to say My September 20th baby became a July 29th baby.. She currently in the NICU doing well and growing every day.. As for recovery not to bad taking it easy and allowing myself to heal.. Even though my birth wasn’t what I planned, Im soo blessed to have my little girl in my life and glad shes here💜💜

I went into my 39 week appointment last pregnancy with my bp at 140/9@. Because I was already 4cm dialated and two days from my due date they admitted me. Broke my water but after a few hours nothing happened so they started me on pitocin. 45 mins later my baby was born (third child). Not what I hoped for but my bp went right back down and there were no complications.

It depends on how high your BP is. Above 160 systolic or 100 diastolic, and they will generally induce same day after 37 weeks. Below that it is up to your doctor's discretion.

My first child my blood pressure hung around the 130s and then spiked to 150 at 38 weeks. I was immediately induced. My blood pressure stabilized after giving birth and I had no other complications. I was diagnosed with hypertension because I had no protein in my urine and no indication of preeclampsia. This pregnancy they have been monitoring my blood pressure which has actually been lower than my first but hypertension is still a possibility for me in these last couple of weeks and if I do have it again I will be induced.
