So I just got my hair done for the first time and told and showed her what i wanted which is a balyage like this:

But instead basically was given highlights. This is what it looks like

Should I go back? It was $160 and took over two hours but it literally looks nothing like what I asked for and showed her.. Help!

You need to do a lot of research when it comes to coloring your hair. You need to look for people who specialize in these types of techniques

YES go back! I do hair for a living and honestly a balayage should take AT LEAST 3-4 hours. Especially a balayage that has coppery red roots with blonde on the ends. It is not easy work to do. She literally gave you highlights and took the easy way out. I ALWAYS tell my clients if they’re not happy then I want them to be honest and have open communication with me because at the end of the day they’re paying for their hair and have to live with it and I want them to be happy. Plus I WANT them to come back to me. It does not hurt my feelings what so ever. And to be honest the balayage you want, if it’s done correctly, would be more than $160.. If you call and let her know you’re not happy and she brushes you off then you definitely need to find a new hairstylist..

Yeah that’s def just highlights I’d go back and speak to the front desk about what they can do whether it’s redo your hair or give you a full or partial refund.
