Postpartum question HELP!!

Hey ladies FTM here and I had my twin girls 5 weeks ago. I stopped bleeding maybe 2 weeks ago and now i started bleeding again yesterday but it’s light and my periods are normally heavy. I’m having some light cramping and the blood has gotten darker and kinda heavier but no where near my normal periods. I’m saying all this to ask could this be my period returning because I need to take my birth control but I’m not supposed to start until my period starts (day 1 actually) im kind of worried if I take it and it’s not my period that I can hurt myself. Help please!{
