I was always one of those people who said “when I’m pregnant I won’t expect anybody to give me special treatment” and to a certain extent, I still don’t expect people to go wildly out of their way to accommodate me. But I commute on the NYC subway every day and just the level of common decency that some people seem to be lacking floors me. 
I will never ask someone to give up their seat for me (although I am very grateful and always accept now when they offer, which isn’t actually that often). But people are just RUDE! I’ve had people shove past me to take the last open seat, I’ve had people nearly knock me over on the platform rushing to make a train, I’ve had people put their bag down in the seat next to them instead of letting me sit there (one time a girl put her Starbucks cup in the seat so she could use her phone with both hands! Your Starbucks doesn’t need its own seat!!). 
I don’t expect everybody on the train to get up at once and trip over themselves to offer me a seat. But a little politeness and general awareness of surroundings would be nice.

If there is a pregnant, elderly, or otherwise physically disadvantaged person standing while you’re able bodied and sitting comfortably, I’m going to side eye you.

I was at the mall with my husband and as we left a store he pointed out a chair and told me to go sit down for a few minutes because I was feeling dizzy. The guy walking beside us rushed in front of us and took the chair, which was the last one of course. He may not have noticed I was pregnant and I don’t expect special treatment but I know he heard my husband point on the chair to me.🙄

I always give consideration to pregnant women, the elderly and physically disabled. Some able bodied people really annoy me with stuff like that. Almost every time I go grocery shopping I come out with massive contractions because I always end up accommodating perfectly fit people. We get stuck in an awkward stalemate in an isle and people will literally stand there and stare at me, like, “Oh don’t mind me! Just let my 36 week pregnant self shift over and move a cart FULL of groceries so YOU can get through! So sorry to burden your afternoon” 🙄 I want to spartan kick them on their way by. Good grief.

Personally..i get really annoyed when people aren't considerate to me. Im 35 weeks with twins and today someone couldnt be bothered to stop at a quiet junction to let me cross the road even though i was already halfway accross. I think its just having a bit of respect..not asking for alot.

I just wish at the store people would let me get across the cross walk and into the air conditioning. It’s 100degrees here and I don’t think it’s much to ask to let me cross. I actually had to be taken out by ambulance because I was waiting in the heat to cross for so long that when I got inside the air was so cold it sent me into shock. I don’t expect a lot but if you know it’s so hot and someone is obviously pregnant just let them across the crosswalk it’s not asking much

I live in NYC. I don’t expect people to give up their seats for me. However common decency would be nice. The majority of the time I use the subway men and women would offer me their seat.

I was thinking about this very thing this morning on the way to work. I don't expect people to kiss the ground I walk on but there have been days where I wanted to ask someone for their seat on the train. I had days where I've had contractions on the train and/or felt like I might pass out. But I just stood the entire ride because I couldn't bring myself to feel entitled in that way. But it would  have been nice if someone was considerate enough to offer a seat.
