Do I really need a baby monitor?

Question

FTM here... we live in a 2 bedroom condo (about 1200 sqft). Is a monitor really necessary?

We have one of the nice ones with cameras all over the nursery. 
I’m glad I didn’t spend any money on it 😂 my mom talked about how much it cost and I’m glad she got it because my baby sleeps with me and won’t sleep anywhere else

I’m never in a different room from my baby she’s almost 6 mo and we’ve never had one. Once we move her into her own room we’ll get one but she’s to little to spend much time by herself right now

We live in a 1200 sf house and have one. My son at 2 yo likes to cover his head with his blanket so we still check on him and go in and take it off

My house isn’t much bigger than that but once my son moved to his room at six mos I needed one. I’m a heavy sleeper and having the extra amplified noise helps. also I think a video monitor helps for some sleeping training if you need to see if they’re okay or just talking to themselves or trying to climb out of bed

I recommend the video kind. I had one with my first and loved it! Definitely helps with sleep training and when they get old (like toddler). it’s so nice to be able to keep an eye on them while they play alone in their room. We also have dogs that we have to take out by a leash, so it’s nice to be able to see baby while the pups are going pee/poo. (Even if we are right outside in front yard)

My house is very small and I don’t have anything. If the baby is sleeping in a safe space there isn’t any need for one🤷🏻‍♀️ you can just hear when the baby wakes up and periodically check on them.

There’s nothing wrong with being extra cautious when it comes to an infant ... she’s 3 months old and sometimes she cries so quiet I can barely hear her on the monitor ....... so nevermind without one

We were super close to my sons room. We pretty much never used the audio, but the video piece was very nice to have. That way we didn’t have to open the door and possibly disturb him.

I had an apartment that size.  Never used mine.

I would, I live in nyc by apartment is 900sqft and I still have one. You never know what could happen.
