How long do you want to breastfeed for?

If you want to breastfeed, how do you want to do it for?

As long as baby wants too. I nursed my daughter until 2years 2months.

I wanted to get to 12 months with my first, he’s now 16 months and I’m still feeding him before bed (but about to wean... I don’t want to be tandem feeding in February 😛) 
My little one didn’t get sick at all in his first year and there were illnesses all around him, this is one of the main reasons I plan on trying to feed for a year again with bubba number 2 ☺️

I fed my first for 18 months, I weaned her while pregnant with my second and seriously regretted it. I still feel guilty for not making the recommended minimum of 2 years because I obviously want what’s best for my kids. My second is 16 months and breastfeeding and I plan to tandem feed him and baby #3 for atleast 2 years each

I had a goal of one year with my first, and ended up going to two years, so I plan to nurse this next one for two years as well ❤

As long as I can. I had so many supply issues with my son and it was all on my end. He was a great murder without any ties and latched perfectly after delivery. He just had this huge appetite and I could never nurse or pump enough to satisfy him. I tried/bought every trick, food, and supplement for four months including trying reglan for two separate weeks. I completely dried up with no warning two days before he turned six months and couldn’t produce at all. He also had a suspected dairy allergy so we went thru Similiac Alimentum in the largest can every five days and it was $40 a can with coupons/sales. 
I’m 12w with our second and I intend to get pumping pals flanges this times and I have a recommendation for an amazing IBCLC in the area that I plan to reach out to. I didn’t pump until 6 weeks with my first but I think I need to start earlier to help my supply. I’d like to nurse for the first year but I’m not gonna get my hopes up if we have a repeat experience of supply issues.

With my first we lasted 21 months (we weaned during the first trimester because my boobs were too tender) So the goal is as close to 2 years as possible with this next one as well.

Not at all. I breastfed with my son and it gave me terrible anxiety and seriously hindered my bond with him for the few weeks that I did it. I felt smothered and like his entire life depending on me alone. The day I gave up breastfeeding my life as a mother changed. I loved my son more than I could ever express and knew exactly why God had given him to me. Kudos to anyone who does breastfeed successfully or even attempts like I did, but this time around I will just enjoy my daughter and not worry about living up to the standard.

I don’t think you can say until you are breastfeeding. With my daughter I wasn’t really sure I wanted to Breastfeed but then gave it a try and now 17 months later I’m still feeding and no rush to stop.
