Weaning help

Ok so I’ve been slowing weaning (regrettably) my now 5 month old baby. He nurses mostly at night and gets formula during the day. I’m going to be starting school in two weeks and pumping isn’t an option (tried it and it didn’t go as I hoped). Well next week (the 15th) I’m flying to California for 5 days and l have to leave my baby at home. Since I’m flying I can’t necessarily pump and freeze milk (not really an option). What should I do? What would be the best option? No baby, no pumping, out of town for 5 days.

Editing because of the comments

I’m trying to figure out what to do about not pumping as I am planning on not pumping because I might be able to at the airport but not really the rest of the time I’m in California. It’s not really an option for me.

You can pump at airports! There are lactation rooms! You can also bring ice packs in a cooler for your milk or request ice at the restaurants. The airport also can’t make you throw out your milk either. You can look up more information by googling, and calling the airline you booked your flight with. However, if you don’t want to pump and save your milk while you’re away: 1. You can talk to your doctor about quitting breastfeeding. There’s a medication you can take that will dry your milk. 2. Bring your pump anyways, and pump and throw out your milk so that you can relieve your breasts and prevent infection. Pump just enough for relief so you slowly train your breasts to produce less milk over time. 3. Take over the counter cough medications but it’ll make you really sleepy and those can dry your breasts out too just enough for relief. (I don’t really recommend this one because of the sleepiness, I haven’t tried it, and don’t know what it’ll do your breasts.)

Oh and maybe try the cabbage thing! I heard it dries you up! Put it in your bra while you’re away

Could you pump a dump. It's what I do at work as I get to full and painful so have to pump, and my daughter won't drink breast milk from a bottle.
