Did your baby refuse bottles when you nurse?

I want to breastfeed my second child (never bf my first) but I’m concerned about when i return to work whether I am pumping or move to formula, either way will he have trouble taking a bottle? Is that really common?
Should I also pump from the beginning and give bottles every so often so he gets used to it, or is that confusing? 😬

Everything I read was to make sure to start offering bottle between 3-4 weeks, so that’s what we did. My little guy has no issues going back and forth. I do believe it can be dependent on the baby though.

You’re going to get a variety of answers... but personally, I wouldn’t introduce a bottle until you’ve established a good nursing relationship. Some babies very easily go between bottle and breast and some have one bottle and refuse to nurse, and you don’t know which your baby will be until you try. So I think it’s better to wait because if you have the latter, you’ll struggle to get baby back to breast. 
I’ve had both and ended up skipping bottles altogether with several just because I didn’t want to struggle to get baby to nurse just for a break here or there (I didn’t return to work, I realize that’s different when you need them to take a bottle). My first had a bottle at 5 weeks and it took me over 48 hours to get her to nurse again.

Start giving the bottle and the boob the day baby is born. It should make it easier to go between.
