Alternative Style Maternity Shoot

Have any of you moms done a not so average/normal themed baby shower or maternity shoot? I’m going to do a vampire/“dark” themed shoot to announce but I’m sure I’ll receive less than positive reactions. I think (especially because I’m a black woman) it’s going to be seen as too weird or bizarre.

I’m going to do the photos regardless but not sure if I should bother sharing them if people will have an issue or talk crap. Any of you deal with this? What was your theme & what reactions did you get? How’d you deal?
