Is this normal?

My daughter is eight weeks old and whenever she’s actually awake she doesn’t really like to play on her play mat or anything like that she kind of looks around for a few minutes and then instantly gets fussy as if she’s bored or something but she never wants to play and I see all these other babies having fun laying on the floor playing is this normal?

Mine is pretty much only into sitting on my lap and interacting that way. He hates tummy time on the floor but loves doing it on my chest. I can only get him in his playmat for a few mins before hes bored

Totally normal.  This is my third child but the first who is actually interested in playing at this age.  My other two love to play now and play all day but wanted nothing to do with the activity mat.  I actually got rid of it because it seemed like a waste of space and had to buy a new one for this one hahahah.  Try not to stress.

My baby isn’t super interested either. We made some progress yesterday, though. I noticed it helps if I’m laying on the ground at her level and I talk to her. 
Try a baby play mirror. It was the first thing she was interested in and yesterday she kept trying to grab it for the first time. She also tried putting a teething toy in her mouth.

I looked up some stuff yesterday because my baby isn’t really interested in toys at all. He loves to stare and look at different things and sometimes he’ll coo and talk to them. He gets bored easily though. I read that babies that need a lot of stimulation are usually highly intelligent. Maybe try facing your baby in different directions so she doesn’t get fussy so quickly? She could be getting bored and need more stimulation.

Is this normal?
