Membrane sweeps?

Question

Are these something your doctor offers you? Mine has never brought it up and I’m 39+3. Or do you mamas specifically ask for them? 
Wondering if it’s worth asking my doctor for. I was 2cm and fully effaced at my last appointment. My next appointment is this Friday and I’ll be 40 weeks exactly 🤔

My midwife offered to do one today bc I’m past 40 weeks now and have been having prodromal labor. There really isn’t any need to do one before the 40 weeks🤷🏻‍♀️ you could probably ask to get it done at your next appointment though. But I should warn you it’s quite uncomfortable and there is no guarantee it will actually work

I asked my midwife she wont do it until 39weeks which is the 19th i'm being induced that day so she said she will do it Friday to see if I go into labor on my own this weekend 🤞🏽

With first baby, doctor offered to do it on the due date at my usual appointment (and it worked for me, I was at the hospital about 6 hours later). She mentioned doing the same this time, if baby doesn't come sooner on her own.

I asked my doctor. She said she will do it this Friday at 39 week appt... if she can get to where she can. Depends on if you’re dilated I believe..
