C-Section Mommas

Elizabeth

So I may have to get a c-section because when I was delivering my first born he had shoulder dystocia (Head comes out but shoulders get stuck) and got stuck. He was 8lb 13 oz and 24 1/4in long. 😑

This baby is already 3 weeks ahead in length and weight so my OB is worried that I'll have the same problem with this little guy that I had with my first. I guess usually if it happens once, getting stuck will happen again and can cause dead arms and other physical issues we want to avoid.

Anyways, I'm super nervous about potentially having to get a c-section. I've heard horror stories where stuff got left inside women, or they had internal bleeding and almost died.

I had an epidural with my first and it was a nightmare. The guy told me that I was the 4th person he had ever done one on and it took 7 pokes before he got it in right. I definitely don't want another epidural but don't know what other options there are.

So ladies that had one or know someone who did, like how long did it take to heal? How bad was it? Could you get up and move around at all? How did you sleep? (I toss and turn all night every night as it is😱)

Are there do's and don't's after getting one?

I have my dad's wedding (6 hrs away), 2 weeks after delivery and I have to walk around an island for 2 days.

Any advice would be awesome!
