Anyone had lip/tongue tie revision ?

How old was LO? Did it help with latch and gases?  Was your pediatrician supportive of this?

My daughter had a mild tongue tie. ENT clipped it when she was 2 weeks. Her latch is better and breastfeeding is less painful. She actually has more gas after getting the revision.

Mine has a confirmed lip tie but pediatrician refuses to cut it. Breastfeeding hurts so much, nipple shields are the only thing that help but they are messy and when my boobs are engorged he latches correctly but loosens mid way to nurse the nipple as he has more control over the amount of milk that way, this hurts like hell, even with the shield. I am actually considering to quit bf and switching to formula because of this. Last time the pediatrician was even entirely amazed I was still nursing...

I had to do this with both my daughters. We did the first at 5 days and this one at 3 days. Recommended by every medical professional we saw due to the severity of the tie.

My son had a TT (really bad) and couldn't latch at all. The pediatrician recommended we get it fixed before we left the hospital, at 2 days they snipped it and he hasn't had a latching problem since.

We had it done at a week. He had both tongue and lip ties that were fairy severe. We were nursing ok before but after his latch got much stronger and deeper. He is still gassy and spits up a lot.  The procedure was hard for me to watch but he was fine about 10 min after. He slept 4 hours straight that night. (He usually sleeps 1-2.5) so he must have been tired!

We got our sons TT clipped at around 10 days old, it helped immensely with latch issues and breastfeeding was almost instantaneously better.
