getting induced early for a nonmedical reason?

Has anyone been induced for a nonmedical reason? 
My due date is September 14th, I am 35w & 3d, and today at my appointment, my doctor set my induction for August 31st, which I will be 38 weeks. 
This is my first child, i’ve had a fairly normal/healthy pregnancy.

Deny it, that is absolutely unnecessary.

I was induced at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia. Your risks with an induction increase. If it isn't for a medical reason, I would deny it.

Most hospitals wont allow an induction before 39 weeks unless absolutely medically necessary. I wouldn't opt to be induced that early your body may not respond well because its not ready

I was induced 2 times just for drs convenience. I didnt know any better. But the labor was alot worse then just waiting for my body to do what its meant to do. Dont do it!

I was induced with my first for medical reasons (preeclampsia).  I would do ANYTHING to avoid it again.  The risks of complications increase so much with induction.

I’ve had three inductions for low amniotic fluid and I didn’t have any complications and in fact they say an induction is less risky than going over your due date
