Can’t use baby name anymore ?

So my stepsister and I both liked the same baby name for a boy . Unfortunately she had a miscarriage and my mom says I can’t use that name , and I agree I probably shouldn’t but I just really loved that name for a while before we both were even pregnant .

I wouldn’t use it.  It’ll be hard enough for her to remember the loss every time she sees you pregnant but to also lose the name she loved would just be sand in the wound.

Is it something you can ask your step sister about after she's had time to heal? She might be ok with you using it.

This is why I don’t talk to anyone about baby names 
I would ask her how she feels about it 
But my honest opinion I wouldn’t care cause it’s my child and that’s the name I decided to use 
That sounds mean, But she will come across other pregnant women... she’ll come across other baby boys... and she’ll come across other ones with that name. 
I’ve had 3 miscarriages and I don’t get offended because someone picked the names I wanted.

100% talk to her. Ot may be a tribute. My bff gave me her girl name without hesitation.

I would talk to her about it, or just not use it at all. I had the same issue with my SIL except she was never pregnant. She said if she ever had a girl she wanted to use the name Fay after our husbands grandma. Well when I found out I was expecting my second girl my MIL kept asking if we would incorporate Fay and I kept telling her no because SIL claimed it. So eventually I asked SIL about it if I could use it as a middle name, but that I didn’t want to step on toes by taking her name, then if she ever has a girl use it as a first name! Because middle names don’t get used that much unless they’re in serious trouble lol and she was like oh yeah that’s fine! A yr later she’s still talking crap behind my back because I stole her name 🤦🏼‍♀️ and I spelled it Faye. If it was that big of a deal I wouldn’t have used it but she even okayed it and is still mad at me 🙄.

I think it depends... had you discussed which one of you was actually going to use the name before she miscarried? Like obviously you weren’t going to both use it haha so unless she had actually “claimed” it I would think it should be ok. If she was actually going to use it tho, then no.
