17 DPO - unusual “period” - now what?

I ovulated around July 25th. Got a positive ovulation test the day before so I know it occurred. Had an irregular bleed August 8 & 9. It started as what I thought was a period but never fully progressed into one. Just some dark blood and not enough to be a typical period for me. It was basically over by the PM of August 9th. I had light spotting when I wiped (brown/pink) on the 10 & 11. Now I have had nothing yesterday and today. TMI - but I have had some diarrhea which I know is a sign for some before a BFP. I want to test but am anxious, as usual! What is going on and when is the best time to test?
