Thoughts on baby monitors?

I keep going back and forth if they are worth the money. I haven’t been able to put the thought to rest since she’s been born so I feel like I’m going to get one anyway but I was curious as to what other April mommies thought!

Our house is small, so I can hear him wherever I am. It's nice to have for when he's napping and I want to do stuff in the garden so I know when he's woken up and needs me.

Ours is necessary because the baby’s room is so far from our nursery. I wouldn’t be able to hear him cry in his crib without one.

I have an audio only v tech for when she is napping and I have things to do outside. Which to honest, isn't very often.

I personally prefer them, just because I like to check on her while she’s sleeping and I’m trying to get the house cleaned. It’s easier to just carry the monitor with me or my phone because it connects to my phone instead of constantly going in and out of the room. It’s a two way talk, tells you the temperature of the room, has night vision, and plays music.

We bought a WYZE home security camera on amazon. $36 and it’s awesome! I can check on her live from an app on my phone.

I think it depends on the situation. We live in a small place, so it's unnecessary. I am also a big no go on the video monitors cause I get too paranoid with all the creeps around.

I live in a small one floor house with a basement. Anywhere on the main floor I can hear my daughter without the monitor so I only use it at home if I'm outside or in the basement. I use it at my parents or MIL's house because their houses are bigger so I wouldn't hear her unless I stayed in the room she was sleeping in and then I'd miss out on family time. Without it I'd be checking on her every 5 seconds because I don't like to leave her crying when she wakes up.

I love mine but I asked for it during the baby shower. I get great use from it. It has video and 2 cameras. It is a Motorola

I have one and use it all the time. I need it !! I put her to bed at 7:30 and have the monitor with me while I’m downstairs etc.

Our baby does not cry, he just squirms and flails when he is upset so it is a definite need for us.
