D&C or naturally?

I’ve experienced my first miscarriage at 8 weeks, I don’t know which way to go.. d&c or pass it naturally. I think it’ll be traumatic to do it naturally but I don’t want to risk scar tissue... anyone have thoughts on this? Or why did you choose what you did..if you had a choice?? I’m having one more scan from radiology on Monday to be absolute certain before we can move on. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks!

I found out at 10w1d that my baby’s heart stopped at 8w6d. I just had a D&C on Friday. My doctor said that since my body gave me 0 signs of a miscarriage, no bleeding or cramping, that passing it naturally would be extremely painful and difficult. Honestly I wanted to get it behind me. The D&C was harder emotionally than it was physically.

Miscarriage sucks, I'm so so sorry you had to join this club.
I waited a week after finding out baby's heart stopped beating to see if my body would pass everything naturally and it wasn't doing anything on it's own. So I opted for the pills to get things going. They didn't completely work and almost 7 weeks after losing baby, I finally had a d&c. That was on July 5th. Looking back now, I wish I had gone with the d&c in the first place. That way you know it's taken care of and there's no worry for infection or retained tissue.
It's a tough decision to make, I'm sorry you have to make it.
