6 week Lockdown

Shilisa

So i just had my third baby a little over a week ago and I’m wondering who else is completely over staying in the house for the full 6 weeks. I did it with my boys and I only left for dr appointments but at this point I want to do things like drop my other kids off at school, grocery shop, and all sorts of other things. I don’t want to let my responsibilities get behind. How long did you all wait before you broke free ?

Me and my son were out the first week🤷🏼‍♀️. Quick trips to the store here and there. I just had a car seat cover on him so people couldn’t get too close. I could never sit in my house for 6 weeks, I still need to live.

I never waited. We got out of the hospital and the next day she had a dr appointment then we had a WIC appointment (she had to be present) then we had to go shopping for formula since I couldn't BF and since it was on WIC I had to be the one to pay for it. Then I had a doctor's appointment and so on 🤷🏼‍♀️

Our health visitors made a point of saying we were allowed and encouraged to take the bAby outside. I still avoided crowds and wasn’t out for long... but that was more for me than my little. Do whatever feels best for you. If you like noise and the energy of crowds, go for it! Just keep the baby covered and/or dressed for the weather and you should be fine.

I did 5 days in bed, 5 days on the bed, 5 days on the couch. After about a week and a half I was back into my routine with our two year old but didn’t do much housework for the first 2-3 weeks.

Never stayed home. We were out in a couple of days enjoying Vietnamese at our fave restaurant.

We took our preemie boy to church with us when he was 2 weeks old 🤷🏻‍♀️ Obviously don’t let people be all over your baby, but I never really saw a the point in a full lockdown

I brought my daughter out the day after she was let out of the NICU so she was 2w1d... would have brought her out sooner but ya know we had 2 unanticipated weeks in the NICU.Kept her in her infant carrier and stroller with the carriages up. No one asked to see her 🤷🏻‍♀️ if they did I would of said no.

I didnt stay in for 6 weeks with any of my kids. I went to Walmart with a 2 day old. Took my oldest kids to the pool (me and baby didnt get in), etc. My husband drove for the first few weeks but I did not stay cooped up. I exposed my kids to everything early on. Plus getting out for a walk in the sun is good for you and baby.

I went out on little walks to help recovery as soon as I felt able too. I had csections, so I waited for two weeks I believe

Yeah I waited two weeks to start the walk. I went to the market and back. So was out for 30-45 minutes. And as I felt more capable I started walking a bit longer. I took my time though

I just had my first Csection 12 days ago- how long did you go for walks for at first? Was it about the 2 week mark? Just down the block?
