Birth control & Acne

I’m currently on Lo Loestrin Fe (I think that’s how it is spelt). I’ve been on on for 5 months and a month ago I started getting these white bumps in my face (same kind, same area on both sides). My friend said that area is hormonal acne but I’m not sure. They are just white bumps. Not pimples. Not white heads. Has anyone experienced this? I have an appt with my OB this week but just wondering if I should make one with a dermatologist as well. Have any of you experience something similar??
