Cat Calling advice?

Not sure if this is the right group but…
I got cat called today at a stoplight. The guy was in the right lane and I was trying to cross the street. He honked at me and started saying I had a nice body, asked what my name was, etc. Some 40 something year old trucker… I’m 17. I felt super stuck because I couldn’t speed up while waiting for the light and I didn’t feel comfortable going the other way because I was close to my house and didn’t want him to follow me into my neighborhood. How do I deal with this?

Ignore it. Don’t even look at him. If they try to follow you immediately call the police.

I'd they're close enough to see my face, sometimes I just make the weirdest expression I can think of. They usually stop pretty quickly, lol
If it's a drive-by or a stationary situation where you feel uncomfortable, though, just ignore them. I've had my fair share of experiences with catcallers, so I feel more comfortable taking the weird face route. Your safest bet is likely just to keep to yourself and get away from the person as soon as you can.

I think staring awkwardly like you are frozen is the best method.
Like you can joke with them, that sometimes gets the point across, or saying thanks and hoping it's over soon.
Ugh. This stuff can be so dumb to deal with. They don't get why what they're doing is bad. But it's not a compliment, it's intimidating, scary, oppressive, because a lot of times they seem so entitled to our attention, plus it's scary since we are always told men might get violent towards us if we do the wrong thing to the wrong person. And they do sometimes. So it's really terrifying.

I enjoy messing with men like this, although it depends on my mood. I've crossed my eyes and curled my lip over my teeth and waved, flicked them off, or I'll say the creepiest thing I can conjure up. One of my favorites to use is "I enjoy collecting fingernails" and give a friendly smile like you didnt just say that
