Sex when dilated?

Is it ok to have sex when dilated? ( i’m only 2cm dilated ) and will it help bring on labor?

I'm 39 weeks and my husband and I have been having sex my entire pregnancy...hasn't made me go into labor yet but for some they say they swear by it.

I was only about 1cm dilated, had sex that night, went into labor the next evening. Possibly coincidence, but who knows. Worth a shot!

As long as your water hasn’t broken you are good to go. Your mucus plug is the first line of defense against bacteria and your amniotic sac is the last line of defense. Some suggest semen does help induce labor.
