Does height and weight make a difference?

Question

I’m 4’10 and 95lbs, very tiny and my husband is 6’8 around 270lbs. Very big. I was wondering if that has anything to do with me having a c-section or natural birth?
Both his mom, and my mom has had c-sections.
His mom did with all three. (My bf was a 13lb baby)
My mom did with 2/3 but I believe they were for emergency reasons. (I wasn’t breathing when I was born)
I’m very deathly afraid, and everyone I come across that wants to congratulate me, tells me I’m going to need one, without even being asked to tell me that.
Just really curious.

I’m 4’11 and I was 100lbs with my first. I had a Vaginal delivery but I did have a 4th degree tear. So for my second we had a csection. You should really talk to your doctor about your options. They try to steer away from a csection unless it’s an emergency.

I’m not tiny (5’6 and 145), but my husband is is 6’3”, and his mother loved to remind me constantly that he was an 11lb baby, his brother was 12lbs, and all the babies in the family are just huge. Well, she had me straight up convinced I was going to have some huge newborn. NOPE! My son was 7lbs 8oz. Totally average sized, and I didn’t even tear. 
I completely understand your concern. But if you have to have a c section, that won’t be the end of the world. Also, people vaginally deliver big babies all the time too. Either way, you’ll be alright.

It depends, but typically some petite women dont have a big enough birth canal or pelvis, so they will do a c-section.

It depends when the time comes really. My mom gave birth naturally to both my sister and I. When I gave birth I ended up needing a c section. My sister ended up needing an emergency c section. It just depends on the situation, the mother, the baby. Everything.

You really won’t know until the end. Some moms can give birth vaginally to bigger babies with no problem. I wouldn’t have your mind set on having to have a c section yet. Your dr will tell you.
