Giving blood disaster 😬

Okay so originally I was supposed to give blood with my boyfriend but he went to do something else so I got my mom to take me and she’s also been wanting me to give blood and so i decided I’m gonna do it. We get to the place and I’m feeling good and I sign in and they take me to a room to ask me questions and prick my finger to make sure I’m okay to give blood and eventually she takes me to the back to give blood and she hooks me up and I’m doing good and she occasionally ask me if I’m okay and im like yeah I’m fine and when we get down to the last few minutes of me giving blood I start to feel nauseous and dizzy and gonna pass out! I tell my mom and she and the lady who is taking my blood are running around the room trying to find a trash can or some sort for me to throw up in... they don’t make it so I’m holding my mouth closed trying to keep it in but it just keeps coming and eventually.. it goes all over me and I’m like soooooo embarrassed and wanting to just hide under a rock forever and thank god they gave me a shirt because my shirt was ruined and mind you I’m wearing my sisters shirt and her Scrunchie and they ended up throwing that away and I feel bad because they threw my sisters scrumchie away and I threw up everywhere but I got to clean up myself and put my new shirt on and get snacks and drinks to eat and drink to make me feel better and a 15$ gift card to Walmart! But most importantly I saved a life! ❤️

It was a good decision just ended up taking a turn in a direction I didn’t think it would head in but I’m glad I did it and I’m glad the nurses weren’t rude about it all! They were so nice afterwards and I know it was probably disgusting but I couldn’t thank them enough for helping cleaning me up and making sure I was better before leaving!

Mind you I’m 17 and have never given blood and not afraid of needles! But I’ll definitely be doing it again hopefully in October but we’ll see and if I do hopefully it goes better than my first time 😊
